Angela Saunders, Principal Consultant of Anden & Associates, has an eclectic background that affords Anden & Associates the benefit of offering diverse, interrelated services to clients. She has nearly 30 years of communications experience that includes facilitating focus groups and other corporate meetings and developing and delivering presentations for clients. She also writes and edits content for grants and technical proposals, scholarly publications, marketing materials, trade magazines, government publications, and websites. Angela has written about diverse topics, including DEI, health disparities, youth development, education, domestic violence, health care access, and substance abuse.
Angela embarked on her second and concurrent career as a human resources professional with the pursuit of graduate-level education. Angela is passionate about promoting human resources professionals as strategic business partners and contributors to organizational growth and advancement. Her areas of expertise include leadership and employee coaching, training and workforce development, performance management, policy development, employee and labor relations, recordkeeping and compliance, and talent acquisition. Her work in human resources afforded her an opportunity to expand her expertise and shift her focus to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI). As a DEI professional, Angela has developed corporate commitment to DEI statements, conducted DEI culture assessments, engaged in strategic planning for DEI implementation, and conducted training on DEI topics. She also served as co-lead for a firm’s inaugural DEI Advisory Team with which she collaborated to develop the firm’s first DEI Strategic Plan.
Angela has acquired the Society for Human Resource Management’s Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) credential. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism and a Master of Science degree in Management, with a focus on Human Resources. She has also completed the University of South Florida’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in the Workplace Certificate program and is pursuing Cornell University’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Certificate.
